Therapy Services
With several different health care professionals offering solutions to various physical and emotional concerns that one can face it can be difficult to know when a therapist is the best person to consider for your treatment. You may be a good candidate for traditional therapy if any of the following are present:

1. If you have a history of a mental illness or a direct family member has a history of mental illness.
2. If you have had significant changes in your life such as marriage, divorce, grief, loss, etc.. which you are unable to manage effectively.
3. If you currently take prescription medications to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, or other mental health diagnosis.
4. If you or someone in your family struggles with persistent behavior problems, anger management, defiance, or other reoccurring behavioral issues which interfere with the ability to be successful at home, school, or in the community.
5. If you struggle with severe self-esteem issues which impact your ability to be successful at home, school, or work.

With the current trend of brief therapy often being mandated by insurance providers, the focus of my practice is on Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have experience with other approaches to treatment and do often interchange theories as they meet the needs of the client.

Traditional outpatient therapy is conducted in an office through a face-to-face meeting with a therapist. A typical session is 50-60 minutes in length every week to every other week. We will keep track of your progress together through the establishment of treatment goals and ongoing assessment of your current needs and progress toward these goals. As goals are met and your symptoms decrease we will re-evaluate the frequency of your sessions.

Individual Therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client that aims to facilitate change and improve quality of life. Therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being.

Couples or Marriage Therapy is offered to support people in relationships who may be considering separation or seeking improved intimacy and understanding. In couples counseling, the relationship is the focus, although each partner should also expect to focus on self-improvement and self-awareness.

Family Therapy addresses specific issues that affect the psychological health of the family, such as major life transitions or mental health conditions. Family counseling aims to promote understanding and collaboration among family members in order to solve the problems of one or more individuals.
